Joakim Halvarsson
Joakim Halvarsson (born 12 March 1972) is a Swedish ski mountaineer. Halvarsson was born in Östersund and has been member of the national team since 2006. He started ski mountaineering in 2000 and competed first in the Swedish Cup Ski Mountaineering in 2005. Östersund (; ) is an Urban areas in Sweden, urban area (Stad (Sweden), city) in Jämtland in northern Sweden. It is the seat of Östersund Municipality and the capital of Jämtland County. Ski mountaineering (abbreviated to skimo) is a skiing discipline that involves climbing mountains either on skis or carrying them, depending on the steepness of the ascent, and then descending on skis.
