Jiřina Štěpničková
Jiřina Štěpničková (3 April 1912 – 5 September 1985) was a Czech actress. She spent 10 years in prison for an attempt to illegally cross a border. Life Jiřina Julie Štěpničková was born on 3 April 1912 in Prague. She started acting at age 16 when her high school professor Jindřich Honzl brought her to Liberated Theatre. In 1930 she was already acting in the National Theatre. From 1936 to 1951 she was acting in the Vinohrady Theatre. In the 1930s and 1940s she was a lead actress in many Czechoslovak movies. In 1951, she decided to emigrate after receiving a letter allegedly from František Čáp inviting her to West Germany. However the letter was planted by secret service. She was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Her son was sent to a children's home. Her actor colleagues Zdeněk Štěpánek, Karel Höger or Vlasta Fabianová petitioned the government to have her released. She was finally released in 1961. After her release she continued to pl ...

Jiřina Žertová, née Rejholcová (born 13 August 1932) is a Czech sculptor, painter, glass and art-industrial artist. Life Jiřina Žertová comes from a family of Josef Rejholec, an official of the Supreme State Audit Office in Prague. From 1947 to 1950 she studied at the State Graphic Arts School under Prof. Zdeněk Balaš. In 1949, the school was renamed Higher School of Art Industry, where she studied in the studio of Petr Dillinger. Her classmate and friend was Zdena Strobachová, and her older colleagues were Adriena Šimotová or Jiří John. Already after her third year of graphic design school, she passed the exam for the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where she was admitted in 1950, shortly after the February Communist coup and at a time of severe political persecution. Jiřina Švorcová (25 May 1928 – 8 August 2011) was a Czech actress and pro-Communist activist. Her acting career lasted more than forty years, but she largely retired after the 1989 Velvet Revolution and devoted herself to advocacy of the Communist Party. Švorcová worked in television, theater and film during the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. She spent more than forty years at the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague. Her best known work came during the 1970s in the Czechoslovak television series, ''Žena za pultem'' or ''A Woman Behind the Counter''. Švorcová was a devote supporter of Communism and a supporter of the former Communist government of Czechoslovakia. Jiřina Steimarová (24 January 1916, Prague, Austria-Hungary – 7 October 2007, Prague, Czech Republic) was a Czech Republic, Czech film and television actress. Life Jiřina Steimarová was born in Prague in 1916. Her maternal grandfather was legendary theatre actor and director Vendelín Budil. Both of her parents were actors as well. She made her screen debut in the 1933 film ''Ecstasy (film), Ecstasy''. She appeared in nearly 40 films and TV shows during her career. Steimarová was a cast member of the National Theatre (Prague), National Theatre since 1933. She was married to sculptor Jan Kodet and later to racing driver Jaroslav Juhan. After Juhan emigrated to South America, she was fired from the National Theatre. Her children were actors Evelýna Steimarová and actor Jiří Kodet.
