Jiuqutang Railway Station
Jiuqutang (), formerly spelled Jioucyutang, is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Pingtung line located in Dashu District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The station was opened on 1 October 1907. The current main station hall replaced the original 1907 station. Additional east exit with fully accessible overpass was added during renovations from 2016 to 2018. Sanhe Tile Kiln
The Sanhe Tile Kiln () is a former tile manufacturing factory in Dashu District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The original building of the factory was established in 1918. The building used to be the Shunanhao Tile Kiln. It has even since undergone name changing twice, such as Yuan Shun-an Tile Kiln. In 1975, it was renamed to Sanhe Tile Kiln. In 2001, parts of the building was registered as historical site by the government. Architecture The building is made of straw-mixed bricks, red bricks and roof tiles fired in the kiln. Exhibition The former factory gives explanation on brick history, traditional brick production, ancient kiln style, brick community and creative development of bricks and tiles. Gaoping River
The Gaoping River, also spelled Kaoping River (), is the second longest river in Taiwan after Zhuoshui River with a total length of . It is located on the southern part of the island, flowing through Pingtung County and Kaohsiung City. It is the largest river in Taiwan by drainage area. Characteristics The Gaoping River headwaters originate near Yushan in northern Kaohsiung’s Tauyuan District and a small part of southern Nantou County. Taiwan Pineapple Museum
The Taiwan Pineapple Museum () is a museum of pineapple in Dashu District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The museum is housed in a refurbished factory constructed in 1925 called Jioucyutang Taifang Company, a factory that canned pineapples produced by farms around the region. In 2004, the factory building was listed as a historical monument by the Kaohsiung County Government. The building was then renovated and reopened as Taiwan Pineapple Museum in August 2018. Exhibitions The museum exhibits the history of the Jioucyutang Taifang Company and Dashu District. It also displays an overview of the agriculture activities in the region, especially of the pineapple industry. It has a collection of more than 50 canned pineapple labels produced by the company. Dashu District () is a suburban district located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan near the Kaoping River. Fo Guang Shan is one of largest tourist attractions in Dashu District. Pingtung Line
The Pingtung Line () is a line of the Taiwan Railway Administration West Coast line in Taiwan. It is long, of which is double track. The section between Nanzhou and Linbian railway stations will be upgraded from a single-track railway to a double-track railway in December 2019 while the section between Chaozhou and Nanzhou, and the section between Linbian and Fangliao is expected to remain in single-track.
