Jinny Beyer
Geraldine Elizabeth Kahle Beyer (born July 27, 1941) is an American quilt designer, quilter, author, teacher and lecturer. Considered by the quilting industry and the publishing media to be of the first designers to form a fabric collection suited to the needs of quilters, she began her career in India after she had run out of yarn. Beyer's works have won awards in the print media, and she has written about the history of quilting and her techniques. She has designed collections for fabric companies and has taught and lectured on the subject domestically and internationally. Beyer was inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame in 1984. Early life Beyer was born in Denver, Colorado on July 27, 1941. Her mother is artist Polly Kahle and she has three sisters. Jinny Jessica Jacinto (born May 8, 1976) is a Canadian contortionist, known for her work with the Cirque du Soleil, her television appearances and her role in the film ''Satie and Suzanne''. Early life Jacinto's parents were Peruvian by birth. Performances as a contortionist Jacinto was a member of the Cirque du Soleil as one of four 12 to 14-year-old girls working in a contortionist troupe. She said that to perform as a contortionist "You just lie down on your stomach, bring your legs over your head, lift up your chest and you smile." Jinny Osborn
Jinny Osborn (born Virginia Cole; April 25, 1927 – May 19, 2003) was an American popular music singer. She founded the group the Chordettes with three friends in 1946, which became one of the longest-lasting American vocal groups of the mid-20th century. Her final departure in 1961 led to the group's dissolution. Early life and education Osborn was born to Orlan H. "King" Cole and Katherine Flack in Seattle and grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Tutbury Jinnie
Tutbury Jinnie was the name given to a local rail service between the stations at Burton upon Trent and Tutbury. The service consisted, at various times, of up to eight trains on weekdays and two on Sundays. Background Until 1949, the service also served stations at Horninglow, Stretton and Rolleston. Although popular, increased use of road traffic led to the loss-making service being withdrawn at the beginning of the 1960s. The last train was the 20:12 Tutbury-Burton service on 11 June 1960. The last train to use the line was a short freight hauled by a diesel shunter. The track remained in place for some years afterwards, until well into the 1970s. Legacy The name is commemorated in the name of the Jinnie Trail, a linear park which follows the route of the old railway line.
