Jingxing Pass
Jingxing Pass () is one of the major mountain passes on the Taihang Mountains, site of the famous Battle of Tao River or Battle of Jingxing where the famous general Han Xin () scored one of his many victories against superior forces. The historical site from Han dynasty is in modern day Tumenguan Township referencing later named Tumen Pass (). Shijiazhuang (; ; Mandarin: ), formerly known as Shimen and Chinese postal romanization, romanized as Shihkiachwang, is the capital and most populous city of China’s North China's Hebei Province. Hebei or , (; alternately Hopeh) is a northern province of China. Hebei is China's sixth most populous province, with over 75 million people. Shijiazhuang is the capital city. Taihang Mountains
The Taihang Mountains () are a Chinese mountain range running down the eastern edge of the Loess Plateau in Shanxi, Henan and Hebei provinces. The range extends over from north to south and has an average elevation of . The principal peak is Mount Xiaowutai (). The Battle of Jingxing (), also known as the Battle of Tao River (), was fought in October 205 BC between the army of Han, commanded by Han Xin, and a Zhao army. The Zhao were led by Prince Zhao Xie () of Zhao and Chen Yu (), also known as the Lord of Cheng An (), who was serving as Zhao Xie's prime minister. Han Xin
Han Xin (; 231/230–196 BC) was a Chinese military general and politician who served Liu Bang during the Chu–Han Contention and contributed greatly to the founding of the Han dynasty. Han Xin was named as one of the "Three Heroes of the early Han dynasty" ( zh, script=Hant, 漢初三傑), along with Zhang Liang and Xiao He. Han Xin is best remembered as a brilliant military leader for the strategies and tactics he employed in warfare, some of which became the origins of certain Chinese idioms, he was undefeated in battle and for his accomplishments he was considered the "God of War". In recognition of Han Xin's contributions, Liu Bang conferred the titles of " King of Qi" on him in 203 BC and " King of Chu" in the following year. Baodu Zhai
Baodu Zhai (), or Baodu Village, is an ancient fortified hilltop settlement located in the outlying Luquan District about from central Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China. It is located on top of Baodu Mountain, which is said to resemble a reclining Buddha. According to legend, the Han dynasty commander Han Xin ambushed 2000 soldiers at the site, and in the Cao Wei, Wei dynasty, an uprising by Ge Rong forced local villagers to flee to the mountain carrying their calves, hence the name "Baodu" ("bao" means "to carry" and "du" means "calf"). The settlement is completely encircled by a fortified stone wall, much like Chengde Mountain Resort. The main entrance is Nantianmen (). Great Wall Of China
