Nzinga Of Ndongo And Matamba
Nzinga Ana de Sousa Mbande ( – 1663) was a Southwest African ruler who served as queen of the Ambundu Kingdoms of Ndongo (1624–1663) and Matamba (1631–1663), located in present-day northern Angola. Born into the ruling family of Ndongo, Nzinga received military and political training as a child, and she demonstrated an aptitude for defusing political crises as an ambassador to the Portuguese Empire. She later assumed power over Ndongo after the death of her father and brother, who both served as kings, and would go on to conquer Matamba. She ruled during a period of rapid growth in the African slave trade and encroachment of the Portuguese Empire into South West Africa, in attempts to control the slave trade. Nzinga fought for the independence and stature of her kingdoms against the Portuguese in a reign that lasted 37 years. Kamana, Queen Of Jinga
Kamana, Queen of Jinga (died 1810) was the queen regnant of the Kingdom of Jinga (in modern-day Angola) from 1767 to 1810. She was the daughter of queen Ana III Guterres. In 1767, her mother was deposed and executed by her nephew Francisco II Kalwete ka Mbandi. Her death resulted in a longgoing succession crisis, in which Kamala and her sister Princess Murili left for Kidona in Kwanza, where they proclaimed the Kingdom of Jinga under the rule of queen Kamana, contesting the right of Francisco II after their mother, and establishing a rival Kingdom within the borders of his own Kingdom. The conflict lasted until 1800, when Francisco II recognized the Kingdom of Jinga and acknowledged Kamala's right to rule there. The Kingdom of Ndongo and Matamba was not united until 1810, when Francisco II and Kamala both died and the Portuguese supported Kamala's son Ndala Kamana (d. 1833), when he successfully united the Kingdom under his own rule. Ion Jinga
Ion Jinga (born 1 September 1961, Câmpulung) is a Romanian diplomat working in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1992. Between 9 April 2003 and 7 March 2008 he served as the Romanian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and between 7 March 2008 and 4 August 2015 he held the position of Ambassador of Romania to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. On 4 August 2015, he started his term as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Romania to the United Nations in New York. He and his wife Daniela have one daughter, Daria. Studies Ion Jinga graduated from the Dinicu Golescu High School in Câmpulung, Argeş (1976 - 1980), as a valedictorian, and subsequently he attended the Faculty of Physics at the University of Bucharest, which he graduated in 1986.
