Jimmy Poulos
Jimmy Poulos (born March 14, 1952) is a former American football running back who played one season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the thirteenth round of the 1974 NFL draft. He played college football at the University of Georgia. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive handoffs from the quarterback to rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. The World Football League (WFL) was an American football league that played one full season in 1974 and most of its second in 1975. Although the league's proclaimed ambition was to bring American football onto a worldwide stage, the farthest the WFL reached was placing a team – the Hawaiians – in Honolulu, Hawaii.
