James Michael Aloysius Bradford (born 16 March 1954), known as Jimmy Nail, is an English singer-songwriter, actor, film producer, and television writer. He played the role of Leonard "Oz" Osborne in the television show ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'' (1983–1986), the title role in ''Spender'' (1991–1993) and Jed Shepperd in ''Crocodile Shoes'' (1994–1996). He also recorded a 1992 number one single, "Ain't No Doubt". His role as Agustín Magaldi, the oily crooner in the 1996 film ''Evita (1996 film), Evita'', gave him international recognition. Sunday For Sammy
''Sunday for Sammy'' is a series of biennial Benefit concert, charity concerts held in aid of the Sammy Johnson Memorial Fund, which benefits young performers. The fund was established in memorial to Sammy Johnson, an actor from North East England, who died suddenly in 1998. The concerts have been held at Newcastle City Hall, with the exception of 2006, when the show was hosted at The Glasshouse, Gateshead, Sage Gateshead. Due to the popularity of tickets, the 2018 and 2020 events were held at Metro Radio Arena. Following Covid-19, the next event was expected to be held in 2023; however, "due to the cost-of-living crisis" and the high production costs, the charity's trustees decided that the event would not be a good use of the charity's funds. The show is performed twice on one day, with each being recorded for a DVD release, from which 75% of profits go to the fund. Val McLane (born Valerie Bradford 25 February 1943, in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland) is an English actress, scriptwriter, director and teacher. Early life She grew up in Walker and Benton. Her younger brother is actor and musician Jimmy Nail. She attended the convent direct grant grammar Sacred Heart Catholic High School, Newcastle upon Tyne in Fenham. Charlie Dore (born 1956) is an English singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and actress. Although best known as a singer-songwriter, Dore has a multi-faceted career that includes acting in film, TV and radio, comedy-improvisation, and composition for film and TV.
