Jimmy Djimrabaye
Jimmy Djimrabaye (born April 8, 1992) is a Central African professional basketball player for Bangui Sporting Club. During his career, he has played in France for several teams in the LNB Pro A and LNB Pro B. He also played in Africa, when in 2008, he played for Red Star Ndongo in the qualification games for the 2008 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup. Fourteen years later, in 2022, Djimrabaye played with Bangui Sporting Club in the Road to BAL 2023. National team career Djimrabaye represents Central African Republic in international competition. He competed for the national Under-18 team in the 2008 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship. Djimrabaye competed with the senior team for his country at the AfroBasket tournaments of 2009, 2011, 2015, 2017 and 2021. Their best results were the 6th place in 2009 and 2011. The 2008 FIBA Africa Basketball Club Championship (23rd edition), was an international basketball tournament held in Sousse and Hammam, Tunisia, from December 12 to 21, 2008. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa, and hosted by Étoile Sportive du Sahel, was contested by 12 teams split into 2 groups of 6, the first four of which qualifying for the knock-out stage, quarter, semifinals and final. FIBA AfroBasket 2021
FIBA AfroBasket 2021 was the 30th edition of the FIBA AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda for the first time. It was originally scheduled to take place between 17 and 29 August 2021, but it was moved back a week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 24 August to 5 September 2021. The tournament featured 16 teams, with South Sudan debuting at the AfroBasket stage. Tunisia was the defending champion, having won the 2017 tournament and they defended their title with a final win over Ivory Coast, while Senegal won the bronze medal. FIBA AfroBasket 2017 was the 29th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was jointly hosted by Tunisia and Senegal. Angola was proposed by FIBA Africa to host the tournament, an offer declined as the country is holding general elections in the same period. AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. It also served as the qualifying tournament for FIBA Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament in Brazil. The tournament was held in Radès, Tunisia. AfroBasket 2009 was the 25th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body, and the African zone thereof. At stake were the three berths allocated to Africa in the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The tournament was hosted by Libya after Nigeria, the original host, withdrew from hosting after not conforming to FIBA Africa guidelines.
