Jim Yester
James Yester (born November 24, 1939) is an American musician. He is a member of the sunshine pop group the Association, who had numerous hits on the Billboard charts, ''Billboard'' charts during the 1960s, including "Windy (The Association song), Windy", "Cherish (The Association song), Cherish", "Never My Love" and "Along Comes Mary", among many others. Yester was a core member of the Modern Folk Quartet when they reformed in the 1980s. He is the older brother of former The Lovin' Spoonful, Lovin' Spoonful member Jerry Yester, and he played briefly with that band in the 1990s. Since 2007, Yester has remained a member of the Association, co-leading alongside original member Jules Alexander and Del Ramos (brother of late Association member Larry Ramos). Valiant Records was an independent record label distributed in the 1960s by Warner Bros. Records (and briefly by Four Star Television). The label was sold to Warner Bros. in 1967. History Valiant Records was formed in 1960 in California, by singer−songwriter Barry De Vorzon and manager Billy Sherman. Valiant charted with its first release, " Angel On My Shoulder" recorded by Shelby Flint. De Vorzon's own group, Barry and the Tamerlanes, hit in 1963 with "I Wonder What She's Doin' Tonight." Barry De Vorzon
Barry De Vorzon (born July 31, 1934) is an American composer, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He worked as a pop musician during the 1960s and co-founded Valiant Records, before being known as a composer of film and television scores during the following decades. He is a Grammy Award winner, an Academy Award nominee, and a six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner. Biography De Vorzon was born to a musical family in New York City. Jubilee Records was an American independent record label, specializing in rhythm and blues and novelty records. It was founded in New York City in 1946 by Herb Abramson. His partner was Jerry Blaine. Blaine bought Abramson's half of the company in 1947, when Abramson went on to co-found Atlantic Records with Ahmet Ertegun. The company name was Jay-Gee Recording Company, a subsidiary of the Cosnat Corporation. Cosnat was a wholesale record distributor.
