Jim Thomas (basketball)
James Edward Thomas (born October 19, 1960) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a 6'3", shooting guard. High school Thomas played competitively at Nova High School, in Davie, Florida. College career Thomas played college basketball at Indiana University, from 1979–1983. While playing for head coach Bobby Knight at Indiana, he was the sixth man on the 1981 national championship team, and also made the 1981 Final Four All Tournament Team, after grabbing nine rebounds off the bench, in place of foul-plagued starter Ted Kitchel, in the 63–50 title game win over North Carolina. Professional career Thomas played professionally in the NBA, with the Indiana Pacers, L.A. Clippers, and Minnesota Timberwolves, from 1983–1990. Jim Thomas (offensive Lineman)
James F. Thomas (May 6, 1917 – June 4, 1981) was an American football guard. Thomas was born in 1917 at Oilton, Oklahoma. He attended Oilton High School. Thomas attended the University of Oklahoma and played for the Oklahoma Sooners football team from 1935 to 1938. He was a member of the 1938 Oklahoma Sooners football team that compiled a 10–1 record and was ranked No. 4 in the final Associated Press poll. He was known as "Singer" Thomas at Oklahoma because of his constant singing in the shower room. He was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals with the 102nd pick in the 1939 NFL draft. He appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals during the 1939 and 1940 seasons. Thomas was also an opera singer who sang with the Metropolitan Opera for a year. Jim Thomas (running Back)
James T. "Long Gone" Thomas (December 18, 1938 – October 4, 2015) was an American gridiron football player and coach. He played professionally as a running back for nine seasons in the Canadian Football League CFL) with the Edmonton Eskimos. Thomas ran for 6,161 yards in his CFL career and was a two-time CFL All-Star. He signed to the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL) in 1970 for a five-game trial, but returned to Edmonton. Thomas holds the record for the three longest rushing touchdowns in Eskimos history—a 104-yard run on October 9, 1965, against the BC Lions, a 100-yard run on August 2, 1966, against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and a 97-yard run on September 4, 1964, against the Ottawa Rough Riders. James Joseph Thomas (born September 24, 1974) is an American politician and former professional tennis player serving as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from the 49th district since 2023. As a tennis player, Thomas' highest ATP world singles ranking was 288, which he reached on November 2, 1998. His career high in doubles was at 29, set on August 21, 2006. James Thomas (March 26, 1946 – August 6, 2010) was an American computer scientist in the field of visualization. He spent much of his career at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Life James Joseph Thomas was born March 26, 1946, in Spokane, Washington. He majored in mathematics at Eastern Washington University, and received a master's degree from Washington State University in computer science.
