Jim Stewart (footballer, Born 1884)
James Findlay Stewart (16 April 1884 – 4 February 1951) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda and Carlton Football Club, Carlton in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL). Stewart was a wingman in North Melbourne Football Club, North Melbourne's 1903 Victorian Football Association premiership team and was also a member of the side which were awarded the premiership the following year. Although Carlton tried recruiting him, Stewart opted to join St Kilda in 1905. He was used as a centreman originally but ended up spending most of his time on a half forward flank and topped St Kilda's goal-kicking in both 1907 and 1908, with 21 and 28 goals respectively. His best effort in 1907 was a seven-goal haul in a win over Geelong Football Club, Geelong at Corio Oval, breaking the club record, which had stood at four goals. History Stewart could only manage six appearances in his first two league seasons but was a good performer in the reserves, winning the club's reserves best and fairest in 1939. William James Perver Stewart (born 31 August 1934 in Llanelly) is a former first-class cricketer. He played for Warwickshire from 1955 to 1969, and for Northamptonshire in 1971 and 1972. James Garvin Stewart (born 9 March 1954) is a Scottish former football goalkeeper. Football career Playing He began his career with local side Troon, and he went on to play for Kilmarnock, Middlesbrough, Rangers, St Mirren and Partick Thistle. Stewart earned 2 caps for Scotland and was included in the squad at the 1974 FIFA World Cup. Coaching He was later the goalkeeping coach at Kilmarnock and Heart of Midlothian, who he left to rejoin Rangers in August 2007. He worked with the SFA as a youth goalkeeping coach before joined the Scotland national football team setup under Gordon Strachan in 2013, on a part-time basis. Stewart left Rangers in March 2017, following the appointment of Pedro Caixinha as team manager. He was then the goalkeeping coach at Nottingham Forest from May 2017 to January 2018. James M. Stewart, Jr. (born April 23, 1957) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in one National Hockey League game for the Boston Bruins during the 1979–80 NHL season. His lone game was on January 10, 1980 against the St. Louis Blues. He gave up 3 goals in the first 4 minutes and 5 goals in the first period. The Toyota Owners 400 is a 400 lap NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia. From 2007 to 2011, former race title sponsor Crown Royal named the race after the winner of an essay contest during Daytona Speedweeks. The winner of the first essay contest was Jim Stewart from Houma, Louisiana, with subsequent contests won by Dan Lowry of Columbiana, Ohio, and Russ Friedman of Huntington, New York, with the 2010 race being named for Army veteran Heath Calhoun of Clarksville, Tennessee. Since 2010 only military service members have been eligible to win the contest. Crown Royal moved the "Your Name Here" sponsorship to the Brickyard 400 beginning in 2012. James Frank Stewart (July 29, 1930 – December 5, 2022) was an American record producer and executive who in 1957 co-founded, with his sister Estelle, Stax Records, one of the leading recording companies during soul and R&B music's heyday. The label also scored many hits on the Billboard Hot 100 pop music chart, and internationally, during this time. Life and career Stewart was born on July 29, 1930. Raised on a farm in Middleton, Tennessee, he moved to Memphis in 1948 after graduating from high school, then worked at Sears and the First National Bank before being drafted into the United States Army. After serving for two years, Stewart returned to his job as a bank clerk in Memphis in 1953. Stewart was a part-time fiddle player and joined a local country music group, the Canyon Cowboys.
