Jim Ruttle
James Ruttle is an Irish former politician. He was a Fianna Fáil member of Seanad Éireann from 1980 to 1981. He was nominated by the Taoiseach to the 14th Seanad on 20 June 1980 to fill vacancy created by the resignation of Michael Yeats. He did not contest the 1981 Seanad election. He was an unsuccessful Fianna Fáil candidate for the Wicklow constituency at the 1981 general election. In 1988 he was co-opted to replace the deceased Cllr Jim Miley by Fianna Fail, however he was not selected to run for the party in 1991 local elections. From 1991 to 2019, he was an Independent member of Wicklow County Council for the Baltinglass electoral area, which covers the western portion of County Wicklow. He retired from politics at the 2019 local elections. Personal life Ruttle was the son of Earnest Ruttle and Jane Valentine, he is a member of the Church of Ireland. Fianna Fáil (, ; meaning 'Soldiers of Destiny' or 'Warriors of Fál'), officially Fianna Fáil – The Republican Party ( ga, audio=ga-Fianna Fáil.ogg, Fianna Fáil – An Páirtí Poblachtánach), is a conservative and Christian-democratic political party in Ireland. Kilbride (Irish: ''Cill Bhríde''), or Manor Kilbride, is a village, civil parish and electoral division in County Wicklow, Ireland, located at the western edge of the Wicklow Mountains in the barony of Talbotstown Lower. Gurteen College
Gurteen College is an agricultural college in County Tipperary, Ireland. Founded as Gurteen Agricultural College by the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1947 it was officially opened by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Patrick Smith, on October 11, 1947. Seanad Éireann (, ; " Senate of Ireland") is the upper house of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (the lower house). It is commonly called the Seanad or Senate and its members senators (''seanadóirí'' in Irish, singular: ''seanadóir''). Baltinglass
Baltinglass, historically known as Baltinglas (), is a town in south-west County Wicklow, Ireland. It is located on the River Slaney near the border with County Carlow and County Kildare, on the N81 road. Etymology The town's Irish name, ''Bealach Conglais'' means "the way of Conglas". It was the name of a palace at Baltinglass, where, according to the Irish etymologist Patrick Weston Joyce, the powerful Leinster king Branduff resided in the sixth century.
