Jim Pabian
James A. Pabian (April 14, 1909 – July 23, 1996) was an American animator, screenwriter and director. In the 1930s, he worked as an animator for Ub Iwerks, Leon Schlesinger Productions and Harman & Ising. Pabian then worked for the MGM cartoon department in the 1940s, and later branched out as a comic artist for Dell Comics in the 1940s and 1950s, and created the syndicated daily comic strips ''Hollywood Johnnie'', ''Screen Girl'', and ''Go Go Gruver''. He also worked on various Disney comics. In the 1950s, he worked for John Sutherland and later co-wrote (with Chuck Jones) and directed the Tom and Jerry short ''The Brothers Carry-Mouse-Off''. He also co-wrote (again with Jones) another Tom and Jerry short, ''Haunted Mouse''. Both were released by MGM in 1965. He was also listed as a "graphic blandishment" artist on the 1972 ''Peanuts'' film ''Snoopy Come Home''. Pabian died on July 23, 1996, aged 87. Ub Iwerks
Ubbe Ert Iwwerks (March 24, 1901 – July 7, 1971), known as Ub Iwerks ( ), was an American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effects technician. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Iwerks grew up with a contentious relationship with his father, who abandoned him as a child. Iwerks met fellow artist Walt Disney while working at a Kansas City art studio in 1919. After briefly working as illustrators for a local newspaper company, Disney and Iwerks ventured into animation together. Iwerks joined Disney as chief animator on the Laugh-O-Gram shorts series beginning in 1922, but a studio bankruptcy would cause Disney to relocate to Los Angeles in 1923. In the new studio, Iwerks continued to work with Disney on the Alice Comedies as well as the creation of the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit character. ''Snoopy, Come Home!'' is a 1972 American animated musical comedy-drama film directed by Bill Melendez and written by Charles M. Schulz based on the ''Peanuts'' comic strip. The film marks the on-screen debut of Woodstock, who had first appeared in the strip in 1967. It was the only ''Peanuts'' film during composer Vince Guaraldi’s lifetime that did not have a score composed by him. Its music was composed by the Sherman Brothers, who composed the music for various Disney films like ''Mary Poppins'' (1964), ''The Jungle Book'' (1967), and ''Bedknobs and Broomsticks'' (1971). The film was released on August 9, 1972 by National General Corporation, produced by Lee Mendelson Films, Bill Melendez Productions and Cinema Center Films (in the latter's final production).
