Jim McManus (British Actor)
Jim McManus (19 May 1940 – 11 April 2023) was a British actor who starred in various television, stage and film roles, including '' Tipping the Velvet'', '' Lawless Heart'' and ''Only Fools and Horses''. In the 1970s he appeared in the ''Doctor Who'' serial '' The Invisible Enemy''. He also starred in the popular television drama '' Heartbeat'' and twice in critically acclaimed drama '' Minder''. He also voice acted in the 1997 TV series '' The Treacle People'' and the 2007 animated film '' Quest for a Heart''. McManus briefly played Aberforth Dumbledore (credited as "Barman") in the fifth Harry Potter film, '' Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'' in 2007. Matthew Warchus (born 24 October 1966) is an English theatre director, playwright, and filmmaker. He has been the Artistic Director of London's The Old Vic since September 2015. Early life and education Warchus grew up in Selby, North Yorkshire where he attended Selby High School. He majored in music at Bristol University and studied in the school's department of drama. ''Crossroads'' (later known as ''Crossroads Motel'' and ''Crossroads King's Oak'') is a British television soap opera that ran on ITV (TV network), ITV over two periods – the original 1964 to 1988 run, followed by a short revival from 2001 to 2003. ''Beneath Still Waters'' () is a 2005 horror film directed by Brian Yuzna. It stars Michael McKell, Raquel Meroño and Charlotte Salt. It is based on a novel by Matthew Costello. Plot Studying under a disciple of Aleister Crowley, the leader of an upper class group invokes a supernatural force that slowly devours the village of Marienbad and its inhabitants, threatening to spread beyond its geographical limits. ''Murder by Decree'' is a 1979 mystery thriller film directed by Bob Clark. It features the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who are embroiled in the investigation surrounding the real-life 1888 Whitechapel murders committed by "Jack the Ripper".
