Jim McCune
James G. McCune (born September 17, 1950) is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 2nd district since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a member of the Pierce County Council, representing the 3rd district from 2017 to 2021 and as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from 1998 to 1999 and again from 2005 to 2013. Early life and education McCune was born in Seattle and raised in Graham, Washington. He earned his high school diploma from Highline High School in Burien, Washington. Career McCune began his career as a provider of Copper River salmon products. He later served on the board of the Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation. Highline High School
Highline High School is a public high school in Burien, Washington, United States, located about 3.5 miles from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. Highline High School, the flagship high school of the Highline Public Schools district, opened in 1924 and served the cities of Burien, Des Moines, and an area south of Seattle now known as White Center. Today, those cities all have their own area high schools, but at the time Highline was the only high school in the area. Pierce County is a county in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, the population was 921,130, up from 795,225 in 2010, making it the second-most populous county in Washington, behind King County, and the 60th-most populous in the United States. The county seat and largest city is Tacoma. Formed out of Thurston County on December 22, 1852, by the legislature of Oregon Territory, it was named for U.S. President Franklin Pierce. Graham is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce County, Washington, United States. It is located 16 miles southeast of Tacoma. The population was 23,491 at the 2010 census and grew to 32,658 at the 2020 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 21.4 square miles (55.5 km2), all of it land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 8,739 people, 2,989 households, and 2,427 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 407.9 people per square mile (157.5/km2). There were 3,120 housing units at an average density of 145.6/sq mi (56.2/km2).
