Jim Margolis (producer)
Jim Margolis is an American producer, writer, and director. He is best known for his work on '' The Daily Show'' and ''Veep''. He is the showrunner and an executive producer of ''Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj'' on Netflix. Early life Margolis attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut until 1993. Career Margolis worked at The Daily Show from 2001 to 2012. He was hired first as a Field Producer and became Co-Executive Producer, going on to win 6 Emmy's. Margolis has also worked on Newsreaders on Adult Swim as Showrunner, writer, director, Blunt Talk on Starz as a writer, and Veep as a writer and Co-Executive Producer, where he won an Emmy and Writer's Guild Award. ''The Daily Show'' is an American late-night talk and satirical news television program. It airs each Monday through Thursday on Comedy Central with release shortly after on Paramount+. ''The Daily Show'' draws its comedy and satire form from recent news stories as well as political figures, media organizations, and often uses self-referential humor. The half-hour-long show premiered on July 22, 1996, and was first hosted by Craig Kilborn until December 17, 1998. ''Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj'' is an American comedy streaming television talk show hosted by Hasan Minhaj that premiered on October 28, 2018, on Netflix and ran until June 28, 2020. A showrunner (or colloquially a helmer) is the top-level executive producer of a television series production who has creative and management authority through combining the responsibilities of employer and, in comedy or dramas, typically also the head writer, script and story editor.
