Jim Lindsey (Canadian Football)
James Ellis Lindsey (November 16, 1948 – September 9, 1998) was a gridiron football quarterback. He played college football at Abilene Christian College where he broke the NCAA career records for both passing yards and total offense. He also pledged Sub T-16 in the fall of 1968 and went on to be skipper in 1969. He later played professional football in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1971 to 1974 and helped lead the 1971 Calgary Stampeders to the Grey Cup championship. Early years Lindsey was born in 1948 in Bay City, Texas. He played high school football in Sweeny, Texas. As a senior in 1966, he led Sweeny High School's football team to the Class AA Texas state championship. Wilbert Montgomery
Wilbert Montgomery (born September 16, 1954) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for nine years with the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions. He was also the running backs and tight ends coach for St. Louis Rams (1997–2005), the running backs coach for the Lions (2006–2007), the running backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens (2008–2013), and the running backs coach for the Cleveland Browns (2014–2015). Playing career College An outstanding athlete at Abilene Christian University, Montgomery was a four-year starter at running back and set the all-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics record for touchdowns with 76. Jerry Keeling
Jerry Keeling (August 2, 1939 – January 20, 2018) was a quarterback and defensive back in the Canadian Football League, playing fifteen seasons from 1961 to 1975 for the Calgary Stampeders, the Ottawa Rough Riders, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. For his great play, he became a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1989. Calgary Stampeders The Paris, Texas-born Enid, Oklahoma-reared Keeling was a member of the Stampeders from 1961 to 1972, playing defensive back and quarterback positions. It was only in 1969 that Keeling became the starting quarterback. Keeling was the winning quarterback in the 1970 Western Conference finals in a best of 3 series against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the final game in brutally cold weather (see video clip below) won by Calgary by a score of 15–14, one of the coldest football games ever.
