Jim Hutchinson
James Metcalf Hutchinson (29 November 1896 – 7 November 2000) was an English first-class cricketer who played more than 250 matches for Derbyshire County Cricket Club between 1920 and 1931. Until September 2018, when John Manners took the record, Hutchinson's unique claim to fame was that, of all first-class cricketers around the world, he was the longest-lived whose age had been incontestably established. All but one of Hutchinson's 256 first-class matches were for Derbyshire. He was also selected for a Gentlemen v Players match at Blackpool in 1924, though neither team was of the strength usually sent out in the Lord's and Scarborough fixtures at this time, and the game was over in less than two days. Tupton
Tupton is a village and civil parish in North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England, south of Chesterfield. The population of the civil parish -- including Egstow and Old Tupton -- was 3,428 at the 2011 Census . It lies just north of Clay Cross on the A61 (Derby Road) which runs from Chesterfield to Alfreton. It comprises the areas of Old Tupton and New Tupton. However, it is generally referred to as Tupton. A similarly named area, Tapton, is a few miles away, part of Chesterfield. The village has a primary school, and a secondary school with a sixth form. Leicestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Leicestershire. It has also been representative of the county of Rutland. The club's limited overs team is called the Leicestershire Foxes. Founded in 1879, the club had minor county status until 1894, when it was promoted to first-class status pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. Arthur Walker Richardson
Arthur Walker Richardson (4 March 1907 – 29 July 1983) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1928 and 1936. He captained the Derbyshire team between 1931 and 1936, concluding with Derbyshire's first victory in the County Championship. Richardson was born at Quarndon, Derbyshire. He was educated at Winchester College and in a match against Harrow School scored 117 for the Winchester XI in a partnership of 295. At the start of the 1928 season he made his debut for Derbyshire against the West Indies. In his first three seasons he managed a highest score of 70 and his best seasonal average was 25. He became Derbyshire captain in the 1931 season and led his team to 7th in the points table. In the 1932 season he scored 1,258 runs with an average of 29.95 and made his highest score of 90 against Nottinghamshire, although the team fell back to 10th in the Championship. Archibald Slater
Archibald Gilbert Slater (22 November 1890 – 22 July 1949) was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire between 1911 and 1931. Slater was born at Pilsley, Derbyshire the son of Henry Slater and his wife Sarah Bestwick His father had played for Derbyshire between 1882 and 1887. Slater made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1911 season in June in a win against Northamptonshire when he scored 43 not out in the first innings which was to remain his best score in the season. In the 1912 season his best bowling performance was 5–80. In the 1913 season his best bowling performance was 5–43. In the 1914 season his bowling took off when he took 69 wickets. His best performance that year was 6–19 and he had 3 other 5 wicket performances. In the same year, he scored 99 against Hampshire.
