Jim Booros
James Daniel Booros (born April 22, 1951) is an American professional golfer who played full-time on the PGA Tour for nine years. Professional career Booros played in about 250 events between 1977 and 1991 finishing in the top-125 on the money list five times. He won the 1989 Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic before that became an official PGA Tour event. His best finish in a major championship was a T-68 at the 1983 U.S. Open. This is a list of the 1987 PGA Tour Qualifying School graduates. 54 players earned their 1988 PGA Tour card through Q-School in 1987. The tournament was played over 108 holes at Pine Lakes Golf Club and Matanzas Golf Club, in Palm Coast, Florida. Those earning cards split the $100,000 purse, with the winner earning $15,000. John Huston was the medallist. Jim Hallet finished in second place. After several attempts in the mid-1980s, Hallet finally made it on to the PGA Tour. Bruce Douglass opened with a 65 (−6) to take a two-stroke lead over a number of players, including Fred Couples. In the second round, Douglass shot a 69 to maintain the lead. In the third round, Douglass shot a 67 at the "difficult" course to take a seven-shot lead. In the final round, Douglass shot a one-under-par 70 to defeat runner-up Doug Black by seven strokes.
