Jill Shumay
Jill Shumay (born October 23, 1974) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. She won the 2013 Saskatchewan Scotties Tournament of Hearts, and skips her own team out of the Maidstone Curling Club. She was formerly the third for Patty Hersikorn. Career Born in Maidstone, Saskatchewan, Shumay won her first provincial title in 2013 with teammates Kara Johnston, Taryn Holtby (Schachtel) and Jinaye Ayrey. The rink finished the round robin undefeated in her group, and lost to Stefanie Lawton in the page playoff game. However, the team won the semifinal against Amber Holland and defeated the Lawton rink in the final. The win sent Shumay to her first national championship, where she led her team to a fifth place with a 6–5 win–loss record. Maidstone is a town in northwest Saskatchewan, Canada located 57 km (35 miles) east of Lloydminster and 84 km (52 miles) west of North Battleford at the junction of Highway 16 and Highway 21. 2013 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 16 to 24 at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston, Ontario. It was the ninth time Ontario hosted the Tournament of Hearts. Ontario last hosted the Scotties in 2010 in Sault Ste. Marie. In the final, Rachel Homan of Ontario defeated former Scotties champion Jennifer Jones with a score of 9–6 to claim her first Scotties title. Homan and her team went on to represent Canada at the 2013 World Women's Curling Championship in Riga, Latvia. Amber Holland
Amber Holland (born July 10, 1974) is a Canadian curler from Loreburn, Saskatchewan. Holland skipped Saskatchewan's team to a national women's championship in 2011 by defeating defending champion Jennifer Jones in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts and won a silver medal at the 2011 Capital One World Women's Curling Championship. She also won a national championship at the junior level in 1992, and captured a silver medal at the World Junior Curling Championships in 1993 after losing in the final. Stefanie Lawton
Stefanie Lawton ( Miller; born June 20, 1980) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Career After an appearance at the 1997 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, she would go on to win the 2000 Canadian Junior Curling Championships with the help of her team of sister Marliese Miller (third), Stacy Helm (second) and Amanda MacDonald (lead). At the worlds that year, she would win the silver medal behind Matilda Mattsson of Sweden. At the 2001 Canadian Juniors, Lawton (then known as Stefanie Miller) went on to be undefeated at the Junior championships, only to lose to Prince Edward Island's Suzanne Gaudet. Four years later, Lawton returned to the curling scene by becoming the Saskatchewan women's champion and, as such, going to the 2005 Scott Tournament of Hearts.
