Beginning in the 1920s, it was taxed, contributing thousands of Yuan (currency), yuan to the municipal government and stimulating the growth of Jiangwan. The Republic of China (ROC) began on 1 January 1912 as a sovereign state in mainland China following the 1911 Revolution, which overthrew the Manchu people, Manchu-led Qing dynasty and ended China's imperial China, imperial history.
