Jevontae Layne (born September 21, 2001) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League. He plays as a forward. Collegiate career In 2019, Layne began attending Sheridan College, where he played for the men's soccer team. At the end of his first season in 2019, he was the OCAA West Division leading scorer and named an OCAA West Second Team All-Star. At the end of his second season in 2021 (the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), he was named the OCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Year, OCAA Men's Soccer South Division Player of the Year, OCAA Men's Soccer South Division Scoring Champion, and named an OCAA Men's Soccer South Division All-Star, and a CCAA Men's Soccer All-Canadian. ''The Eyeopener'' is one of two weekly student newspapers at Toronto Metropolitan University. It has a circulation of 10,000 copies per week during the school year. ''The Eyeopener'' is published by Rye Eye Publishing Inc., owned by the students of Toronto Metropolitan University as a non-profit corporation. Most of the writing is done by contributors (as is the case with most campus newspapers) but the paper's masthead is elected towards the end of each academic year, by the previous year's masthead and volunteers who have made a certain number of contributions. 2024 League1 Ontario Season
The 2024 Men's League1 Ontario season is the tenth of League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Starting from this season, the league will split into three divisions with promotion and relegation between them. The Premier division will be composed of 12 clubs, the Championship division of 10 clubs, all returning from last season. The League2 Ontario will be made up by three conferences containing reserve teams and newly licensed clubs.
