Jevgeni Ossinovski
Jevgeni Ossinovski (born 15 March 1986) is the mayor of Tallinn and former leader of the Estonian Social Democratic Party. Ossinovski was voted as mayor in an especial meeting of the city council after the no confidence motion of his predecessor Mihhail Kõlvart. The four political parties that voted against Kõlvart, previously held coalition meetings for the last 2 weeks to make agreements. The mayor’s position to be given to the Social Democratic party was in that agreement. Early life and education He is the son of Oleg Ossinovski ( et), a prominent Russian railway industrialist who moved to Estonia from Kazakhstan in the 1980s. London School of Economics and Political Science has awarded him MSc in Comparative Politics (with Distinction) in 2010. Social Democratic Party (Estonia)
The Social Democratic Party (, SDE) is a centre-left political party in Estonia. It is currently led by Lauri Läänemets. The party was formerly known as the Moderate People's Party (). The SDE has been a member of the Party of European Socialists since 16 May 2003 and was a member of the Socialist International from November 1990 to 2017. 2019 Estonian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Estonia on 3 March 2019. The newly elected 101 members of the 14th Riigikogu assembled at Toompea Castle in Tallinn within ten days of the election. The Reform Party remained the largest party, gaining four seats for a total of 34 and the Conservative People's Party had the largest gain overall, increasing their seat count by 12 to a total of 19 seats. The Centre Party's result fell below expectations after being polled in tight competition with the Reform Party right before the election. Isamaa and SDE both lost support. Estonia 200 finished at 4.4%, falling just short of the 5% threshold. The Free Party's vote share fell to just 1.2%, resulting in the party losing all 8 of the seats it won in 2015. Mihhail Kõlvart
Mihhail Kõlvart (born 24 November 1977) is an Estonian politician currently serving as the Estonian Centre Party, leader of the Centre Party since 2023. He served as the mayor of Tallinn, Estonia, a position he has held since April 2019, after the resignation of Taavi Aas, until the vote of no confidence in him held on 26 March 2024. Early life Kõlvart was born in Kyzylorda, Kazakh SSR, to an Estonian father, Ülo Kõlvart, and Liidia Kõlvart (née Shek), who was of Chinese and Korean ancestry. The couple met while they were both studying at Moscow State University. His father is the founder of the Estonian National Taekwondo Association in 1992 and was its first president from 1992 to 1996. His mother was a teacher.
