Albrecht Joseph (1901–1991) was a German playwright, screenwriter and film editor.Dassanowsky p.43 Biography Due to his Jewish heritage Joseph was forced to leave Germany following the Nazi Party's takeover in 1933. He initially went to Austria and then on to Italy and Britain. He finally settled in the United States in 1939 and was employed occasionally in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood where he was sometimes credited as Al Joseph. Milly Mathis (8 September 1901 – 30 March 1965) was a French actress who appeared in more than 100 films during her career. Born on 8 September 1901 as Emilienne Pauline Tomasini in Marseilles, France, she made her film debut with a small, uncredited role in the 1927 German film, ''Die Liebe der Jeanne Ney'' (English - ''The Love of Jeanne Ney''). Marguerite Hélène Barbe Elisabeth Constantine Lion (28 February 1899 – 24 February 1989), known as Margo Lion, was a European singer and actress. Lion was born in Constantinople to a Jewish family during Ottoman rule. She moved to Berlin after World War I with her father to join the school of Russian ballet. She was a successful chanteuse, parodist, cabaret singer, and actress, best known for her role as Pirate Jenny in director G. W. Pabst's 1931 French-language adaptation of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's '' Threepenny Opera'' (''Die Dreigroschenoper''). In 1928, Lion and Dietrich sang a famous duet, "Wenn die beste Freundin mit der besten Freundin", a song which allegedly had lesbian overtones and which became a hit in Weimar Berlin prior to Dietrich's departure for Hollywood.
