Jesús Valdez
Jesús Alexander Valdez Mejia (Cacao) (born November 2, 1984) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent. Valdez was selected to the roster for the Colombia national baseball team at the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Career Chicago Cubs Valdez signed with the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent in 2003, and made his professional debut with the rookie-level Arizona League Cubs. He missed the entire 2004 campaign due to an injury. Valdez returned to action in 2005, hitting .244 with five home runs and 38 RBI in 61 games for the Low-A Boise Hawks. He made 130 appearances for the Single-A Peoria Chiefs in 2006, slashing .302/.340/.384 with five home runs and 61 RBI. Valdez was released by the Cubs organization partway through the 2007 season, having posted a .250/.300/.326 batting line with one home run and 26 RBI in 83 games for the High-A Daytona Cubs. Peoria Chiefs
The Peoria Chiefs are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The team was established in 1983 as the Peoria Suns. They are located in Peoria, Illinois, and are named for the Peoria Indian tribe for which the city was named. In 2005, the team replaced the indigenous imagery associated with the Chiefs name and moved to a logo of a dalmatian depicted as a fire chief. The Florida Complex League Nationals are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Washington Nationals, competing in the Florida Complex League of Minor League Baseball. Merkin R. Valdéz Mola (born November 10, 1981) is a Dominican former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, and Texas Rangers. Valdez graduated from Escuela Rural Palenque High School in his native Dominican Republic. The Toros de Tijuana (English: Tijuana Bulls) are a Mexican baseball team based in Tijuana, Mexico, that competes in the Mexican Baseball League. The team plays its home games at Estadio Chevron.
