Jesús Aceves
Jesús G (born in Loreto, Zacatecas, Mexico 1968) is the second person in his family born with a rare condition known as hypertrichosis. He is married and has two daughters, both of whom have the condition. His sister, Lili, was also born with hypertrichosis. She is married with one son, and works as a police officer in Mexico. Many in his family believe that they are descendants of Julia Pastrana, the "Monkey Girl". In 2007, he was featured in ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!'' and ''Guinness World Records''. Loreto, Zacatecas
Loreto is a town and municipality in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. The town is the seventh-largest community in the state, with a 2005 census population of 22,085 inhabitants, while the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat had a population of 43,411. Hypertrichosis
Hypertrichosis is an abnormal amount of hair growth over the body. The two distinct types of hypertrichosis are generalized hypertrichosis, which occurs over the entire body, and localized hypertrichosis, which is restricted to a certain area. Hypertrichosis can be either congenital (present at birth) or acquired later in life. The excess growth of hair occurs in areas of the skin with the exception of androgen-dependent hair of the pubic area, face, and axillary regions. Several circus sideshow performers in the 19th and early 20th centuries, such as Julia Pastrana, had hypertrichosis. Julia Pastrana
Julia Pastrana (August 1834 – 25 March 1860) was a performer and singer during the 19th century who had hypertrichosis. Pastrana, an indigenous woman from Mexico, was born in 1834, somewhere in the state of Sinaloa.Lerma Garay, Antonio. Érase una vez en Mazatlán. She was born with a genetic condition, hypertrichosis terminalis (or generalized hypertrichosis lanuginosa); her face and body were covered with straight black hair. Eva Aridjis is a Mexican-American filmmaker. She attended the American School Foundation in Mexico City, Princeton University, and New York University. She has made many prize-winning short and feature-length films. Early life and education Born in the Netherlands, raised in Mexico City, and now living in New York City, Aridjis is the daughter of the Mexican poet and novelist, Homero Aridjis, and the American environmental activist and translator, Betty Ferber.
