Jessore Zilla School
Jessore Zilla School is an old government school located in Jessore district of Bangladesh. The school was established on 3 February 1838. It is one of the oldest schools in the entire Bengal including Jessore district. About 2,040 students study in morning and day branches in this school. Among the famous teachers of Jessore Zilla School are Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah and Krishna Chandra Majumder. History It was founded on 4 February 1838. And the district school was named in 1872. Its earlier name was Jessore Model School. The school started with 132 students. Initially started in the bungalow house of a local queen, later the school got a grant of 7.8 acres of land at Khadki in Jessore and the school started there permanently. In 1971, the school was burnt by Razakars, the school furniture and valuable documents due to Pakistani forces. Jessore
Jessore (, ), officially Jashore, is a city of Jessore District in Khulna Division. It lies in southwestern Bangladesh. It is home to the first flight training school of the Bangladeshi Air Force, established in 1971. Jessore city consists of 9 wards and 73 mahalls. Jashore municipality was established in 1864. The area of the town is 21.15 km2. It has a population of about 298,000 according to the record of Jessore municipality. Jessore also has a domestic airport named as Jessore Airport. Mohammad Sharif Husain
Mohammad Sharif Husain was a Bangladeshi educationist, philanthropist, and a recipient of the Ekushey Padak. Early life Husain was born on 1 January 1934 in Khorki, Jessore Town, Jessore District, East Bengal, British Raj. In 1949, he graduated from Jessore Zilla School. In 1953 he completed his B.A. from Michael Madhusudan College. In 1956, he completed his M.A. in the Department of Islamic History and Culture at the University of Dhaka. Career Husain was part of the Bengali Language Movement from 1948 to 1952. From 1956 to 1967 he served as the Secretary of Awami League. He started a book fair in 1967 in Jessore. Mashiur Rahman (politician From Jessore)
Mashiur Rahman (19201971) was a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician, a member of the East Bengal Legislative Assembly and cabinet minister in the East Pakistan government of Ataur Rahman Khan. He was instrumental in the founding of the Bangladesh Awami League and in the Bengali Language Movement, and supported Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Mosharraf Hossain (Jessore Politician)
Mosharraf Hossain (; 7 March 1925 – 3 February 1974) was a politician and lawyer from Jessore District, Jessore, Bangladesh. He was actively involved in the Bengali nationalism, Bengali nationalist movement in East Pakistan and the Bangladesh Liberation War, Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. He was elected as a member of the East Pakistan Provincial Assembly, Provincial Assembly of East Pakistan in the 1970 Pakistani provincial elections, 1970 election, and was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Bangladesh from April 1971 to September 1972. Muhammad Shahidullah
Muhammad Shahidullah (; 10 July 1885 – 13 July 1969) was a Bengali people, Bengali linguist, philologist, educationist, and writer. He played vital role in Language movement of 1952 he was the first to establish logic about Why Bengali should be the state language of Pakistan over Urdu. Kowsar Ali (; born 20 November 1958) is a former Bangladeshi national football and hockey player and coach. Early life Kowsar Ali is a graduate from Jashore Zilla School. Career Football Ali began his football career with the Jessore District team in 1974 and continued to represent the team for twelve consecutive years, helping them win the National Football Championship in 1976. Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder (born 29 March 1935) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician, former chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Pubali Bank Limited, businessman, and a member of parliament. Mymensingh Zilla School (MZS) is a public secondary school for boys, located in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. The institution was established in 1846 during the British Raj under the name Hardinge School and was officially renamed Mymensingh Zilla School on 3 November 1853.
