Jessica Numsuwankijkul
Heliotropes were a psychedelic/alternative rock band from Brooklyn, New York, consisting of Richard Thomas (bass), Cici Harrison (drums), Amber Myers (tambourine, vocals) and Jessica Numsuwankijkul (vocals, guitar). They formed in 2009 when Numsuwankijkul posted an advert on Craigslist to form a band. She was joined by Amber Myers, Cici Harrison, Richard Thomas and Nya Abudu later joined the band. They released their debut single "Ribbons" in 2011, and various digital singles, "Moonlite", "The Dove" and "I Walked With a Zombie", in 2012. They released two tracks called "Psalms" and "Quatto" to promote their debut album. '' A Constant Sea'' was released on 18 June 2013, on Manimal Vinyl as a digital download. Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson (July 15, 1947 – May 31, 2019) was an American musician and singer-songwriter. He was a founding member and the leader of the 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. Biography Erickson was born in Dallas, Texas, to Roger and Evelyn Erickson, and had four younger brothers. The nickname "Roky", a contraction of his first and middle names, was given to him by his parents. His father, an architect and civil engineer, was stern and disapproving of Erickson's countercultural attitudes, once forcibly cutting his son's hair rather than allow him to grow it out Beatles-style. His mother was an amateur artist and opera singer, and encouraged Erickson's musical talent by taking guitar lessons herself so she could teach him.
