Jessica Harrison-Hall
Jessica Lucy Kilgour Harrison-Hall FSA (; born 1965) is a British art historian, sinologist, curator and author. She is currently Head of the China section, Curator of Chinese Ceramics and Decorative Arts at the British Museum and is also Curator of the Sir Percival David Collection at the British Museum. She researches, lectures and writes about Chinese history and its global connections through visual and material culture. Biography Harrison-Hall has an MA in Chinese and Fine Art from Edinburgh University (1987, including a year at the Chinese Language Department of University of Shandong in Jinan 1984–1985). In 1991, Harrison-Hall joined the British Museum as a project curator for Jessica Rawson in the Department of Oriental Antiquities (now department of Asia). She became Curator of Chinese Ceramics in 1994, curator of the Sir Percival David Collection in 2006, and Head of the China Section in 2015. Joseph Hotung
Sir Joseph Edward Hotung (1930 – 16 December 2021) was a Hong Kong businessman, art collector, and philanthropist. Biography Hotung was born to Edward Hotung, son of Hong Kong tycoon Robert Hotung, in Shanghai in 1930. His brother was Eric Hotung. He was educated at St. Louis College in Tianjin, the Catholic University of America, and the University of London, from which he received a LL.B. Hotung began his career at Marine Midland Bank, New York, shortly after finishing his education, and returned to Hong Kong, after his father and grandfather died, to start his own business. Julia Lovell
Julia Lovell (born 1975) is a British scholar and prize-winning author and translator focusing on China. Life and career Lovell is professor of Modern Chinese History and Literature at Birkbeck, University of London, where her research has been focused principally on the relationship between culture (specifically, literature, architecture, historiography and sport) and modern Chinese nation-building. Lovell's books include ''The Politics of Cultural Capital: China's Quest for a Nobel Prize in Literature'' (University of Hawaii Press, 2006); ''The Great Wall: China Against the World 1000 BC – AD 2000'' (Atlantic Books, 2006); and ''The Opium War: Drugs, Dreams and the Making of China'' (Picador, 2011).
