Jesse Virtanen
Jesse Virtanen (born 7 August 1991) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for HC Ambri-Piotta in the National League (NL). Playing career Virtanen previously played the entirety of his youth and professional career with hometown club, Lukko of the Finnish Liiga. At the completion of the 2016–17 season, his 8th in the Liiga, Virtanen opted for a new challenge in agreeing to a one-year deal with Swedish club, Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League, on April 26, 2017. Virtanen played two seasons with Färjestad, establishing himself as one of the SHL premier defenders, earning Defenseman of the Year honors after leading all blueliners in scoring with 35 assists and 41 points in 52 games in the 2018–19 season. On 2 May 2019, Virtanen left Sweden as a free agent to sign a one-year contract with Russian outfit, Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL. Hockey Club Ambrì-Piotta is a Swiss professional ice hockey club and a member of the National League (NL). The club was founded September 19, 1937, and is also known as "Bianco-Blu" (English: white and blues). Though they have never won the league championship, the club has not been relegated to the Swiss League since being promoted in 1985, the same year that saw the arrival of Dale McCourt. The team plays its home games in the 7,000-seat Nuova Valascia. Savonlinnan Pallokerho (SaPKo) was an ice hockey team from Savonlinna, Finland, they formerly play in the Mestis league. It plays its home matches at the Talvisalo ice rink. The sports club Savonlinnan Pallokerho was founded in 1929. First it consisted football and bandy sections, but since the 1960s ice hockey has been the main sport. In 1960s SaPKo played four seasons in the highest tier of Finnish ice hockey ''SM-sarja'' but was relegated to Suomi-sarja in 1971. Rauman Lukko (Finnish for "lock") is a Finnish sports club based in Rauma, Finland, best known for its men’s professional ice hockey team. The club was founded as Rauma Woodin Lukko in 1936.
