Jersey RFC
Jersey Rugby Football Club is an amateur rugby union club based in Saint Peter, Jersey. They were formerly a part of Jersey Reds as Jersey Athletic but separated in 2022 and are now known by the original name, Jersey Reds). The 1st XV play in the Regional 1 South Central – a league at level 5 of the English rugby union system – following their promotion from Regional 2 South Central in 2023–24 season. Background Jersey Athletic was founded in 2013 as a way for amateurs in Jersey to have a chance to play for Jersey. They would play in the Zoo Sports shield for reserve teams. They would also host sides touring Jersey, often following the first team after high-profile friendlies such as playing Tunbridge Wells after the first team had played Bath Rugby. Regional 2 South Central
Regional 2 South Central is a level six league in the English rugby union system, one of twelve leagues, at this level. Originally part of the South West Division of the RFU, the league was transferred to the London & SE Division for season 2023–24, with a subsequent change of teams, with only five of the previous season's twelve teams remaining. Farnham are the current champions and are promoted to Regional 1 South Central. Format The season runs from September to April and comprises twenty-two rounds of matches, with each club playing each of its rivals home and away. St Peter, Jersey
St Peter (; Jèrriais: ) is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey in the Channel Islands. It is around north-west of St Helier. The parish has a population of 5,003. It has a surface area of . It is the only parish with two separate coastlines, stretching from St Ouen's Bay in the west to St Aubin's Bay in the south, and thereby cutting St Brelade off from other parishes. Myles Landick
Myles Landick (born 1989) is a rugby union player from Jersey. He plays as a prop for RFU Championship team, Jersey, and is also employed as the groundsman of St. Peter, the ground on which Jersey plays. Rugby career A former player for Les Quennevais RFC, Landick moved to play for Jersey's first team after playing for Jersey's youth team, where he was part of the Jersey Academy team that won the Hampshire Rugby Football Union U18 Cup in 2007. Landick made his debut for Jersey in 2010 in their annual Siam Cup game against Guernsey RFC. He later played in Jersey's National League 3 London & SE play-off Final at Twickenham Stadium in London, England. Regional 1 South Central is a level five league in the English rugby union system, with the twelve teams drawn from across southern and South East England. The other level five leagues are Regional 1 Midlands, Regional 1 North West, Regional 1 North East, Regional 1 South East and Regional 1 South West. Jersey
Jersey ( ; ), officially the Bailiwick of Jersey, is an autonomous and self-governing island territory of the British Islands. Jersey Reds
Jersey Reds was a rugby union club based in Jersey, Channel Islands. On 28th September 2023, the club ceased trading and shortly thereafter went into liquidation following the withdrawal of financial support from a key investor. Until season 2022/23, the professional arm of Jersey Reds was part of Jersey RFC, a members' club established in 1879 which also had an amateur men's side, Jersey Reds Athletic, who play in the National Leagues (tier 7); Jersey Reds Women, who play in the Women's National Championship South 2 league; and a thriving Mini section with over 500 boys and girls participating. Tunbridge Wells RFC is an English Rugby union club that plays in Regional 1 South Central from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. History Tunbridge Wells RFC was officially formed as Old Skinners RFC in 1931 as a rugby union club for former pupils of The Skinners' School. In 1970, membership of the club became open to non-Skinners pupils with Old Skinners being renamed as Tunbridge Wells RFC in 1973. Despite becoming an open club, Tunbridge Wells retain their links with The Skinners' School, specifically by not selecting Skinners pupils who represent Skinners while they are competing in the Daily Mail Cup to assist them.
