Jerry Poorters
Jerry Poorters (born 9 October 1978 in Lommel) is a former Belgium, Belgian footballer, who last played for KFC Wezel Sport. Career Before his time with K Rupel Boom FC, Poorters played for Lierse S.K. (1906), SK Lierse. With Lierse S.K. (1906), SK Lierse he won the Belgian First Division in 1997, the Belgian Cup in 1999 and the 1999 Belgian Super Cup. He even played UEFA Champions League, Champions League football in 1997–1998. After a short spell with Belgian Second Division club KVK Tienen, Poorters joined RS Waasland. Since 2006 he's playing for K Rupel Boom FC. With this club, Poorters achieved 2 promotions. In 2008 to the Belgian Third Division, and in 2010 to the Belgian Second Division. Poorters was the team captain for many years. Lommel
Lommel () is a municipality and city in the Belgian province of Limburg. Lying in the Kempen, it has about 34,000 inhabitants and is part of the arrondissement of Maaseik. Besides the residential town, Lommel also has a number of nature reserves, such as the nature reserve De Watering, the Lommel Sahara, and numerous forests and heathlands. The Belgian Third Division (, ) was the third highest level in Football in Belgium, Belgian football. It had two leagues of 18 teams each (Belgian Third Division A, A and Belgian Third Division B, B) at the same level. This competition, originally known as the Belgian Promotion () was first played in the 1926-27 in Belgian football, 1926-27 season with three leagues, then with four leagues between 1931 and 1952. From 1952 on, only two leagues remained and the competition was named the Third Division. Originally set to 16 clubs, the number of clubs in each division was increased in 2009 to 18 clubs. Sportkring Beveren (SK Beveren) is a Belgian professional association football club based in Beveren, East Flanders. The club is affiliated with the founded number 4068 and has yellow and blue as its colours. The team was founded in 1936 in Haasdonk and joined the Belgian Football Association in 1944 as FC Red Star Haasdonk. Koninklijke Voetbal Klub Tienen is a Belgian association football club from the city of Tienen, Flemish Brabant. It is currently playing in the Belgian National Division 1, the third tier of Belgian football. History The club was founded in 1921 as R.C. Tirlemont (Tirlemont is the French for Tienen) and it became a member of the Belgian Football Association in 1922 with matricule number 132. The Belgian Second Division was the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Pro League. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B (known as the Proximus League for sponsorship reasons)). 1999 Belgian Super Cup
The 1999 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners Lierse, and 1999–2000 Belgian First Division champions, Genk on 1 September 1999 at the ground of the league winners Genk, the Fenixstadium. Lierse won the cup after two late goals by Stein Huysegems. Prior to the match, Genk coach Jos Heyligen criticised the timing of the match during the week of international matches, as five players in his squad were unavailable due to being called-up for their respective national team, namely Branko Strupar, Marc Hendrikx, Ferenc Horváth, Þórður Guðjónsson and Bjarni Guðjónsson.
