Oklahoma House Of Representatives
The Oklahoma House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Its members introduce and vote on bills and resolutions, provide legislative oversight for state agencies, and help to craft the state's budget. The upper house of the Oklahoma Legislature is the Oklahoma Senate. The Oklahoma Constitution established the powers of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1907. Voters further amended those powers through constitutional referendums. One referendum required legislators to balance the annual state budget. Others specified the length and dates of the legislative session. Today, there are 101 House members, each representing a legislative district. District boundaries are redrawn every decade to ensure districts of equal population. Avery Frix
Avery Carl Frix is a Choctaw American politician and businessman who has served in the Oklahoma Senate representing the 9th district since 2024. He previously served as a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 13th district from 2017 to 2022. In March 2022, he announced his retirement at the end of the term to run for the open congressional seat in Oklahoma's 2nd congressional district. Early life and education Frix is a native of Muskogee, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 2016. Checotah, Oklahoma
Checotah is a town in McIntosh County, Oklahoma, United States. It was named for Samuel Checote, the first chief of the Creek Nation elected after the Civil War. Its population was 3,481 at the 2000 census. According to Census 2010, the population has decreased to 3,335; a 4.19% loss. Checotah is home to numerous antique malls, a Civil War battle site, and a downtown historic district. Checotah claims to be the steer wrestling capital of the world. The Muscogee Nation, or Muscogee (Creek) Nation, is a federally recognized Native American tribe based in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
