Jerry McMorris
Jerry Dean McMorris (October 9, 1940 – May 8, 2012) was the principal owner of the Colorado Rockies of the National League from through . Early life McMorris was born in Rock Island, Illinois. He worked for his dad at D-C Trucking before deciding to go on his own and form his own trucking company with Westway Motor Freight, which later became NW Transport and NationsWay Transport. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May of 1999. Ownership On July 5, 1991, Denver was announced as an expansion team in Major League Baseball. McMorris was a limited partner in the ownership group that had Michael I. Monus as the intended owner (with a business partner in John Antonucci). However, Monus was embroiled in an accounting scandal that doomed him before he ever saw a game. 1998 Major League Baseball All-Star Game
The 1998 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 69th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL), the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball. The game was held on July 7, 1998, at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, the home of the Colorado Rockies of the National League. Keli McGregor
Keli Scott McGregor (January 23, 1963 – April 20, 2010) was an American professional football player and baseball executive. McGregor played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts. He was president of the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Early life and college McGregor was a multi-sport athlete at Lakewood High School in Colorado before starring with the Colorado State Rams football team as a tight end. McGregor was a four-year starter at Colorado State University. Considered to be an undersized halfback when he arrived on campus, McGregor went from freshman walk-on to a two-time All-American. He grew to 6 ft 8 in and 250 lb, and went on to become an all-Western Athletic Conference tight end from 1982 to 1984. Darryl Kile
Darryl Andrew Kile (December 2, 1968 – June 22, 2002) was an American professional baseball starting pitcher. He pitched from 1991 to 2002 for three Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, primarily for the Houston Astros. Kile was known for his sharp, big-breaking curveball. He died at the age of 33 of coronary artery disease in 2002 in Chicago, where he and the St. Louis Cardinals were staying for a weekend series against the Chicago Cubs. Mike Hampton
Michael William Hampton, Jr. (born September 9, 1972) is an American former professional baseball player. Hampton played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a pitcher from 1993 through 2010. He pitched for the Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks.
