Jerry Hirshberg
Gerald Paul "Jerry" Hirshberg (July 1, 1939 – November 10, 2019) was an American automotive designer, industrial designer, musician and painter. Early life and education Hirshberg studied mechanical engineering at Ohio State University and received a degree with honors in Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art. After graduation, he continued to study in Europe on a Mary C. Page Fellowship. During college, under the stage name Jerry Paul, he released the hit single "Sparkling Blue" in 1959 and opened for well-known musicians such as Bobby Rydell, Fabian, and Frankie Avalon. Hirshberg's first automobile was a Volkswagen Beetle. The Nissan Quest was a minivan manufactured and marketed by Nissan for model years 1993–2017 over four generations. Nissan Gobi
The Nissan Gobi was a concept pickup truck designed at Nissan Design International by Bruce Campbell under the leadership of Jerry Hirshberg. It was introduced at the 1990 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Design Bruce Campbell and Diane Allen are separately credited with designing the Gobi concept. The cab of the Gobi concept was influenced by helicopter design and was laid out asymmetrically with driver-oriented controls.
