Jerry Hinsdale
Jerry W. Hinsdale (born October 17, 1936) was an American competitive swimmer for the University of California, Davis and a swimming and water polo coach for U.C. Davis serving over 30 years from 1961 to 1994. He led his water polo teams to several Far Western Conference titles and postseason NCAA appearances through the 1970s and 1980s. As a youth, he played High School basketball, was a football halfback, competed in tennis, and was made a Troop 83 Eagle Scout for his cooking, pioneering and camping skills. Matt Biondi
Matthew Nicholas Biondi (born October 8, 1965) is an American former competitive swimmer and water polo player. As a swimmer, he is an eleven-time Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder in five events. Biondi competed in the Summer Olympic Games in 1984, 1988 and 1992, winning a total of eleven medals (eight gold, two silver and one bronze). During his career, he set three individual world records in the 50-meter freestyle and four in the 100-meter freestyle. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Biondi won five gold medals, setting world records in the 50-meter freestyle and three relay events. Dave Scott (triathlete)
Dave Scott (born January 4, 1954) is a United States, U.S. triathlon, triathlete and the first six-time Ironman World Championship winner (1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1987). A progenitor of the sport, in 1993, Scott was the first person inducted in the Ironman Hall of Fame. He is known by the nickname "The Man" for his intense training regimens and his unrelenting race performances that created a record number of wins. In 1994, at age 40, he won second place at the Hawaii Ironman World Championship, very nearly winning for a record-breaking seventh time.
