Jeroen Oerlemans
Jeroen Oerlemans (15 May 1970 – 2 October 2016) was a Dutch photographer and war correspondent who reported mainly from the Near East and Afghanistan. His photographs were published in '' Newsweek,'' ''Time,'' '' The Guardian,'' ''International Herald Tribune,'' '' The Sunday Times'' and ''Courrier International.'' He was killed by an Islamic State sniper in the Libyan city of Sirte. He had previously been kidnapped whilst working in Syria alongside British journalist John Cantlie. The Jeroen Oerlemans Foundation is dedicated to his life's work, and finances accumulated from the purchase of certain pieces via the Foundation's website are dedicated to an educational fund for his three children. Jeroen van Wijngaarden (born 29 March 1978) is a Dutch politician who has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2019, previously holding a seat from 2014 to 2017. He is a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Early life and career Van Wijngaarden was born on 29 March 1978 in Amsterdam. He studied change and personnel management at the Hotelschool The Hague between 1996 and 2000. He studied journalism, media and culture for one year at Cardiff University between 2002 and 2003. Jeroen Van Veen (pianist)
Jeroen van Veen (born May 1969 in Herwen en Aerdt, Gelderland) is a Dutch classical pianist and composer. As well as undertaking work as a soloist, he collaborates with other pianists. For example, he has formed duos with his brother Maarten, and, later, with his wife Sandra. Short biography Jeroen Van Veen studied at the Utrechts Conservatorium (HKU) with Alwin Bär and Håkon Austbø. Since year 1988 he has played concerts and recitals throughout Europe and North America and recorded over 190 CDs for Mirasound, Koch, Naxos, Brilliant Classics and his own label piano. Van Veen's compositions are mostly solo piano works and could be described as mostly minimal music. His latest recordings have also focused on minimal music, including a 9 CD Minimal Piano Collection box set, somewhat dominated by the music of Philip Glass, the complete piano music of George Crumb, and a collaboration on recording all of Steve Reich's Chamber music. Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in April 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. They have been classified by critics as gothic metal and symphonic metal, although each album contains other influences outside these genres. Jeroen van der Veer (born 27 October 1947) is a Dutch businessman. He is the chairman of Philips, and a former chief executive officer (CEO) of Royal Dutch Shell. Education Van der Veer graduated in 1971 from the Delft University of Technology with an engineer's degree in mechanical engineering under Jan in 't Veld, where he had been teaching assistant with prof Pierre Malotaux. He went on to earn a master's degree in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2005, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. Career Van der Veer joined Shell in 1971 and worked in manufacturing and marketing in the Netherlands, Curaçao and the United Kingdom. In March 2007 it was announced that Mr. van der Veer's contract as CEO would be extended to June 2009 some twenty months beyond his normal retirement date of October 2007.
