Jeremy Bridges
Jeremy Eugene Bridges (born April 19, 1980) is a former American football guard. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Southern Mississippi. Bridges was also a member of the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins. Early years Bridges graduated in 1998 from South Pike High School in Magnolia, Mississippi, where he played football and was the Pike County, Mississippi Player of the Year as a senior. College career Bridges played college football at Southern Mississippi and graduated with a degree in sports administration. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster.
