Jep And Dep
Jep and Dep are an Australian folk noir acoustic duo from Sydney, composed of Jessica Cassar and Darren Cross. Formed in 2012, the duo have released one EP ''Through The Night'' (2012), and two albums ''Word Got Out'' (2014), receiving 4 out of 5 reviews from ''The Sydney Morning Herald'' and ''Rolling Stone'' and ''THEY'VEBEENCALLED'' (2017). Their music is often compared to Lee Hazlewood / Nancy Sinatra and Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue on '' Murder Ballads''. History Initially starting out as an antifolk band the duo quickly fell into the traditional folk music genre, flirting with equal parts alt-country to equal part ethereal folk. Their sound is characterised by Cassar's beautiful torch singer vocal style, coupled with Cross's weary, Johnny Cash-esque gravely vocal tone. Gerling
Gerling were an Australian electronica, alternative rock trio formed in 1993. From early 1997 the members were Darren Cross on guitar and lead vocals, Presser (real name Paul Towner) on drums and Burke Reid on guitar and vocals. Their second album, '' When Young Terrorists Chase the Sun'' (September 2001), reached the ARIA Albums Chart top50. It provided a top50 single, "Dust Me Selecta" (August 2001). Courtney Melba Barnett (born 3 November 1987) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and musician. Jen Cloher
Jen Cloher (born 9 October 1973) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and record producer, currently based in Melbourne, Victoria. Cloher's 2017 self-titled fourth studio album peaked at number 5 on the ARIA Charts. From 2006 to 2010, Cloher recorded and toured with her band Jen Cloher and the Endless Sea and since 2013 has released with Mia Dyson and Liz Stringer music under the name Dyson Stringer Cloher. Deer Tick is an American alternative rock- folk band from Providence, Rhode Island, composed of singer-songwriter John J. McCauley, guitarist Ian O'Neil, bassist Christopher Ryan and drummer Dennis Ryan. The band's music has been described as rock with folk, blues and country influences, although the band actively rebels against the country tag, stating "We’re proud not to sing with a twang". Lindi Ortega (born May 28, 1980) is a Canadian country singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario, who had lived in Nashville, Tennessee then moved to Western Canada in 2017. She spent nearly a decade as an independent artist in the Toronto music scene, releasing two albums and an EP in that time. Throwing Muses are an American alternative rock band formed in 1981 in Newport, Rhode Island, United States, that toured and recorded extensively until 1997, when its members began concentrating more on other projects. The group was originally fronted by two stepsisters, Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, who both wrote the group's songs. Throwing Muses are known for performing music with shifting tempos, creative chord progressions, unorthodox song structures, and surreal lyrics. Super Furry Animals are a Welsh rock band formed in Cardiff in 1993. Gruffudd Maredudd Bowen Rhys (; born 18 July 1970) is a Welsh musician, composer, producer, filmmaker and author. The Smiths
