Jeon Sang-wook (electronic Sports Player)
Jeon Sang-wook ( ko, 전상욱; born February 21, 1987) is a professional ''StarCraft'' player from South Korea who plays Terran under the alias Midas or midas m''. Career In 2004, he won silver in '' StarCraft: Brood War'' at the World Cyber Games 2004, which was held in San Francisco, California, the first time that the finals were held outside of Korea since the competition's beginning in 2000. The professional gaming organization Team Liquid said that he was considered one of the strongest Terrans in history, who was accepted as the best in the world during his prime. His competition, in particular, against another South Korean player, Ma Jae-yoon alias sAviOr, also in his prime, in 2006, was notable. In January 2014, he returned to gaming, after a break for serving in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, and was welcomed by excited fans in a finals in Seoul, with Lim "PianO" Jin-mook, who was also back from the military. Ma Jae-yoon ( ko, 마재윤), known by the pseudonym sAviOr (previously IPXZerg), and dubbed "The Maestro", is a former professional South Korean e-sports gamer of the real-time strategy game ''StarCraft''. He played the Zerg race and was one of the most successful and popular players of all time. Savior was one of several players implicated in the 2010 match fixing scandal, and as a result he was banned from KeSPA-run competition for life. After retiring as a pro-gamer, sAviOr began streaming on AfreecaTV, but AfreecaTV made the decision to ban several players implicated in match-fixing offenses from the platform, including sAviOr. The MBCGame StarCraft League, also known as MSL, was a ''StarCraft'' tournament hosted by Korean television network MBCGame. The tournament started out in 2002 under the name of KPGA Tour, and in 2003 it was renamed the MSL. On February 1, 2012, MBCGame ceased operations and the MSL was discontinued. Conscription in South Korea has existed since 1957 and requires male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 to perform Conscription, compulsory military service. Women are not required to perform military service, but they may voluntarily join the military. Establishment The basis for military conscription in South Korea is the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, which was promulgated on 17 July 1948. The constitution states in Article 39, "All citizens shall have the duty of national defense under the conditions as prescribed by Act."
