Jenson Joseph
Jenson Eugene Simon Joseph (born 7 October 1966) is a former Antiguan cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler. In 1987, Joseph played in England for Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition scoring 462 runs (avge 25.66) and taking 55 wickets (avge 15.76) in 24 matches. Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club (often called Chester BH) is a cricket club that is based in Boughton, Chester, England. The club has four senior XIs playing Saturday sides that compete in the Cheshire County Cricket League of which the 1st XI is in the ECB Premier League. History The first game at Boughton Hall was played 20 May 1873. In the 1870s Boughton Hall was a large private house standing in spacious grounds. The owner of the time, Mr John Thompson, acquired a taste for cricket on his scholastic travels which took him to Rossall School and then Cambridge. Thompson, upon his return, converted part of the Hall's grounds into a cricket field to which he invited friends to play, under his captaincy, as Boughton Hall Cricket Club. The Love Lane Liverpool and District Cricket Competition is regarded as the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in the Liverpool area and since 2000 has been a designated ECB Premier League. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. Warrington Dexter Phillip (born 23 July 1968 ]) is a former West Indian first-class cricketer and convicted murderer. He represented the Leeward Islands cricket team regularly in the Red Stripe Cup during the 1990s and played for his home island of Nevis in the inaugural Stanford 20/20, held in 2006, where they were surprise semi-finalists. Cricket career Phillip took part in the Leeward's winning Red Stripe Cup campaigns of 1993/94 and 1995/96.
