Jensen Castle
Jensen Castle (born February 21, 2001) is an American professional golfer. She won the 2021 U.S. Women's Amateur. Early life, college and amateur career Castle grew up in West Columbia, South Carolina. She was one of the top amateur golfers in the country during her high school years, and was ranked 4th by the AJGA in the class of 2019. She won the South Carolina Class State Championship in 2016 and again in 2018, where shot a two-day state tournament record 137 and won by 10 strokes. In 2019, Castle lost a playoff to Ingrid Lindblad at the 2019 Annika Invitational USA, and finished second at PGA of America's Girl's Junior PGA Championship in Hartford, Connecticut, two strokes behind Yuka Saso. She was a member of the East squad that won the 2019 Wyndham Cup. World Amateur Golf Ranking
The World Amateur Golf Ranking for men was introduced by The R&A, the governing body of the sport of golf outside the United States and Mexico, on 23 January 2007. It is based on the results of over 2,600 amateur tournaments per year (and amateurs participating in certain professional events) and is updated each Wednesday. Rankings are based on the players' average performances in counting events over a rolling period. The 42nd Curtis Cup Match was played from June 10–12, 2022 at Merion Golf Club, Ardmore, Pennsylvania. It was played less than a year after the previous contest, at Conwy Golf Club in 2021, which had been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The USA team retained the Curtis Cup by a score of 15 to 4. Format The contest is a three-day competition, with three foursomes and three fourball matches on each of the first two days, and eight singles matches on the final day, a total of 20 points. Each of the 20 matches is worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match ends all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. The 41st Curtis Cup Match was played from 26–28 August 2021 at Conwy Golf Club near Conwy, Wales. It was originally scheduled for 12–14 June 2020 but was postponed to 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Great Britain & Ireland had the better of the first day and led to by 4 points to 1 points at the end of the day. The USA team levelled the match at 6 points a piece by the end of the second day. The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019.
