Jens Ludvig Andersen Aars
Jens Ludvig Andersen Aars (23 December 1852 – 22 May 1919) was a Norwegian politician. He was born in Horten as a son of Jens Ludvig Aars and Anette Lund, a nephew of Nils Fredrik Julius Aars and a grandson of Jens Aars. In October 1876 he married Hansine Henriette Vogt (1850–1921). On the paternal side she was a sister of Svend Borchmann Hersleb Vogt, and niece of Volrath Vogt, and on the maternal side she was a granddaughter of Hans Holmboe and great-granddaughter of Jens Holmboe. Aars was known as the director of the bank Centralbanken for Norge. He was also the first chair of Oslo Chamber of Commerce. Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke. The town of Horten was separated from the municipality of Borre to become a municipality of its own in 1858. The neighboring municipalities of Borre and Horten were merged back together on 1 January 1988. The name of the new united municipality was first ''Borre'', but after a referendum it was changed to ''Horten'' on 1 June 2002. The local newspaper in Horten is named Gjengangeren, and covers mostly local news. It is also available online (see external links section). Edmund Harbitz
Edmund Theobald Harbitz (2 October 1861 – 7 May 1916) was a Norwegian lawyer and politician for the Conservative Party. He chaired the party from 1905 to 1908, and served as mayor of Oslo from 1899 to 1901. Early life and career He was a son of office manager Christian Fredrik Gottfred Bohr Harbitz (1833–1916) and his wife Fanny Theobald (1839–1872). He was the older brother of pathologist Francis Harbitz, and a paternal grandson of Georg Prahl Harbitz. He enrolled as a law student in 1880, and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1884. He worked as a law clerk from 1884 to 1890, and in 1890 he opened a lawyer's office together with the later Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christian Fredrik Michelet.
