Jens Krag-Juel-Vind
Jens Krag-Juel-Vind (15 June 1724 – 30 April 1776), Baron of Juellinge, was a Danish nobleman, Supreme Court justice and landowner. Early life and education He was born at Juellinge (now Halsted Priory), the son of Jens Juel-Vind (1694-1726) and Ide Helle Margaretha, Baroness Krag (1697-1738). He had two sisters. His father died when he was just two years old and Juellinge was then managed by his maternal uncle Niels Juel Reedtz (1699-1742) of Palsgaard and by Joachim Gersdorff. Krag-Juel-Vind studied at the University of Hannover from 1741 and at the University of Copenhagen from 1743. Career He served as an accessor in the Danish Chancellery from 1745 to 1756. On 17 October 1746, he was appointed as squire (''kammerjunker''). From 11 February 1747, he held a seat at the Supreme Court without access to vote. Halsted Priory
Halsted Priory (Danish: Halsted Kloster), formerly a small Benedictine house, is a manor house and estate located close to Nakskov on the island of Lolland in southeastern Denmark. The estate was renamed Juellinge when the Barony of Juellinge was restored for Jens Juel-Vind in 1721, but its old name was restored when the barony was dissolved in 1921. Holsted Priory is still owned by the Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs family. The Neo-Gothic main building is from 1847-49. It is flanked by Halsted Church to the north and the old main building from 1591 to the south. The old main building has been renovated with support from Realdania and is now operated as a local cultural centre. The Baroque-style park covers approximately 6.5 hectares of land. Frederik Krag
Frederik Krag (6 March 1655 – 24 September 1728) was a Danish nobleman (Baron) and senior civil servant who served kings Frederick IV and Frederick V. He was Governor-General of Norway from 1713 until 1722. He is not fondly remembered in Norway due to his attempts to subordinate the farmers there in a similar level of service to that which was common in Denmark of the period. Johannes Wiedewelt
Johannes Wiedewelt (1 July 1731 – 17 December 1802), Danish neoclassical sculptor. He became a court sculptor, introducing neoclassical ideals to Denmark in the form of palace decorations, garden sculptures and artifacts and, especially, memorial monuments. He was undoubtedly the best known Danish sculptor before Bertel Thorvaldsen. Life Early training He was born in Copenhagen to royal sculptor to the Danish Court, Just Wiedewelt (1677–1757) and his wife Birgitte Lauridsdatter. The elder Wiedewelt recognised his son's talents early, and the boy trained under the Italian history painter Hieronimo Miani, one of the two leaders of the Drawing and Painting Academy (''Tegne- og Malerakademiet'') in Copenhagen along with Louis August le Clerc (1688–1771), as early as perhaps 1744.
