''Jenny Simpson'' is the only studio album by American country music singer Jenny Simpson. It was released on November 3, 1998 via Mercury Nashville. Content It includes the single "Ticket Out of Kansas", Simpson's only chart entry, which was previously recorded by Regina Regina on their debut album. Also included is "Grow Young with You", a duet with Michael Peterson. This song was later recorded by Andy Griggs and Coley McCabe for the soundtrack to the 2000 film '' Where the Heart Is''. Critical reception Jana Pendragon of Allmusic gave the album two stars out of five, writing that Simpson "sounds like a million other young women trying to break into pop-country music." Jeffrey B. She has written over 40 singles in multiple music formats, including the Lee Ann Womack single "I Hope You Dance (song), I Hope You Dance", and the Kenny Wayne Shepherd single "Blue on Black". Stuart Ian Duncan (born April 14, 1964) is an American bluegrass musician who plays the fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo. Life Duncan was born in Quantico, Virginia, and raised in Santa Paula, California, where he played in the school band. He is married with three children. The lap steel guitar, also known as a Hawaiian guitar or lap slide guitar, is a type of steel guitar without pedals that is typically played with the instrument in a horizontal position across the performer's lap. Unlike the usual manner of playing a traditional acoustic guitar, in which the performer's fingertips press the strings against frets, the pitch of a steel guitar is changed by pressing a polished steel bar against strings while plucking them with the opposite hand. Dan Dugmore is an American session musician known primarily for playing the pedal steel guitar Born in 1949, Dugmore was raised in Pasadena, California. Influenced by the Flying Burrito Brothers, he learned to play steel guitar after Flying Burrito Brothers member Sneaky Pete Kleinow sold him one. Dugmore then joined John Stewart's road band, and then Linda Ronstadt's; he also played for several James Taylor albums. Eddie Bayers (born January 28, 1949) is an American session drummer who has played on 300 gold and platinum albums.
