Jenks Public Schools is a K-12, PreK-12 Public school (government funded), public school system located in Jenks, Oklahoma. Located just south of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Jenks Public Schools now encompasses over 40 square miles and serves more than 12,000 students at its ten school sites. It is the eleventh largest public school district in Oklahoma. Dr. Stacey Butterfield was named Superintendent of Jenks Public Schools in 2013; she previously served as Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and in other roles in the district. The school district was established in 1907 and classes were initially held in a two-room building that was intended to be a cheese factory. The first graduating class had 4 students. Jenks High School is a secondary school located within Tulsa County in Jenks, Oklahoma, United States. It is a part of Jenks Public Schools, which first opened the high school location in 1955 and completing the junior and senior high school in 1959. The high school has over 2,800 students in grades 10–12. With the attached Freshman Academy, the high school campus has over 3,600 students. K-1 is a professional kickboxing promotion established in 1993 by karateka Kazuyoshi Ishii. Originally under the ownership of the Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG), K-1 was considered to be the largest Kickboxing organization in the world. The organization was known for its heavyweight division fights and Grand Prix tournaments. K-1 also promoted mixed martial arts events, with some events having both kickboxing and MMA matches on their cards (such as their K-1 Premium Dynamite!!, Dynamite!! series). The promotion has also held several tournaments under K-2 and K-3 banners from 1993 to 1995. FEG would later face financial issues in the 2010s, and eventually went bankrupt in 2012.
