Jeffrey Sammons
Jeffrey Thomas Sammons (born 1949) is an American historian and professor. His areas of research and interest include African-American history, military history, and sports history. He is the author of ''Beyond the Ring: The Role of Boxing in American Society'' and co-author of '' Harlem's Rattlers and the Great War: The Undaunted 369th Regiment and the African American Quest for Equality''. He is currently a professor of history at New York University (NYU). Education In 1967, Sammons graduated from Bridgeton High School in New Jersey. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Rutgers College. Bridgeton High School is a comprehensive community public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from the city of Bridgeton, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Bridgeton Public Schools, an Abbott District. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1931. Students from Downe Township and Lawrence Township attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship.
