Jeff Smith (American Racing Driver)
Jeff Smith (born August 20, 1963) is an American professional stock car racing driver and crew chief who currently competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series and the ARCA Menards Series East, driving the No. 01 Ford for Fast Track Racing in collaboration with Brad Smith Motorsports. He is the older brother of current ARCA Menards Series driver Brad Smith. Racing career Smith ran one ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series race at Flat Rock Speedway driving for his brother's team in the No. 67 Chrysler, where he would finish 28th and last due to engine issues. Since 1988, Smith has worked as a crew member and crew chief for his brother and his team. The General Tire 200 is an ARCA Menards Series race held at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama. Since 2009, it has been held in the spring on the same weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series' Jack Link's 500 and NASCAR Xfinity Series' Ag-Pro 300. Stock car races in the ARCA Menards Series has been held at Daytona International Speedway as part of Speedweeks since 1964. The race, formally known as Daytona ARCA 200, is currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Chili's Ride the 'Dente 200. History In 1990, the race is mostly remembered of a series of accidents, including 1970 winner and 1976 Daytona 500 polesitter Ramo Stott rolling over in the middle of the track and causing a 10 car pile-up. As a result of a wreck late in the race, paramedic Mike Staley, while taking care of Kevin Gundaker, was injured after Bob Keselowski spun into Gundaker's car, thus striking him and tossing him into the air for several feet. Imperial was the Chrysler Corporation's luxury automobile brand from 1955 until 1975 and again from 1981 through 1983. Michigan International Speedway (formerly named as the Michigan Speedway from 1997 to 2000) is a D-shaped oval superspeedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Berlin Raceway is a long paved oval race track in Marne, Michigan, near Grand Rapids, Michigan, Grand Rapids. The track races weekly as part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series.
