Jeff Johnson (Canadian Football)
Jeff Johnson (born February 28, 1977) is a former professional Canadian football running back who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Early years In high-school, Johnson played at the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, one of Toronto's oldest high-schools, located in Etobicoke. He first played football in Grade 12 when he was asked to try out for the football team. Playing tailback, Johnson led the Etobicoke Rams in offensive, and special teams yards throughout his two football seasons. In his final year at E.C.I. Johnson won the athlete of the year award and to this day holds the Ram's record for most total touchdowns scored throughout high-school. After high school, Johnson starred at York University in Toronto from 1996 to 1999. Etobicoke (, ) is an administrative district and former city within Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Mike Hogan (sportscaster)
Mike Hogan (born 1963) is a Canadian sportscaster who serves as the play-by-play voice for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League for TSN Radio 1050's gameday broadcasts. Hogan was formerly a long time sports talk radio host on Toronto station CJCL (AM), branded "The Fan 590", until he was relieved of those duties on June 24, 2010. Hogan later became a sports talk radio host on TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto, Ontario. On January 2019, Hogan left sports talk radio to work full-time with the Argonauts as the team's manager of communication while concurrently serving as their radio play-by-play voice. York Lions
The York Lions is the official name for the athletic varsity teams that represent York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The university's varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports and, where applicable, in the east division. The Lion's logo features a red lion from the school's logo with the university's colours, red and white. A kickoff is a method of starting a drive in gridiron football. Additionally, it may refer to a kickoff time, the scheduled time of the first kickoff of a game. Typically, a kickoff consists of one team – the "kicking team" – kicking the ball to the opposing team – the "receiving team". In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from their team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. In most cases, after making the catch, the receiver will then proceed to run towards the opposing end zone carrying the ball and try to score a touchdown, unless the play ends due to him being downed or forced out of bounds. Rush (American Football)
Rushing is an action taken by the offense, usually by the running back, but it can also be by the quarterback or wide receiver, that means to advance the ball by running with it, as opposed to passing, or kicking.
